Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts ~ Paleo, GF, DF,

Oven roasted Brussel sprouts is one of my favorite things in life! and if you don’t like brussel sprouts your probably cooking them wrong!  

Brussel sprouts AH the pore brussel sprout… They have been seen for so many years as the bitter soggy vegetable from your childhood that your mother or grandmother boiled to over cooked death and then insisted you consume with gusto.

But of course you did not, who in there right mind wants to eat a soggy flavorless bitter preparation of this wonderful vegetable? I certainly don’t.

So instead of hating this vegetable for all eternity for it’s bad reputation or memories, let us create a new memory of crunchy, savory, garlic, and the lightly sweet and almost nutty flavor of these delicious and healthy vegetables when they are oven roasted!

Think of them as tiny cabbages! Since the cabbage is there cousin.

When these little lovelies are cooked properly, they have a surprisingly delicate flavor, as mentioned above, almost nutty and lightly sweet. The texture if they have been cooked correctly should be fork tender.

Health wise they are quite the power house of nutrition.

They are a wonderful source of vitamins including A,C,K, and B vitamins. They have iron, fiber, Potassium, folate and even protein! and antioxidant beta~carotene as well!

Power house indeed!

Let us Wipe the memory of those mushy childhood vegetables from our minds.

Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts ~ Paleo, GF, DF

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs fresh brussel sprouts
  • 3 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp fresh cracked pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450°F.
  • Cut the bottom off and slice the sprouts in quarters.
  • Toss brussels sprouts in a glass oven safe pan.
  • Drizzle with the oil, sprinkle with sea salt,freshly cracked black pepper, onion powder and garlic powder.
  • Place in the preheated oven and roast until tender and some leaves are crunchy! about 20 minutes.
  • Taste and season with more sea salt if necessary and serve. Trust me there AMAZING! I could eat two pans of them myself!
